June 27-30, 2013 Kru Joe, Mike Viani and Matt Petrie were at the 2013 TBA North American Championships in Des Moise Iowa USA. Matt and Mike were representing Canada as well as Fifth Round fighting in this prestigious tournament. Both Athletes represented our country and our academy with sportsmanship, honor and integrity. Here are the results from the tournament:
Matt fought a great fight against a much taller opponent. Matt was sticking to the game plan and doing awesome. In the second round he took a hard left cross to the eye and got injured so Kru Joe threw in the towel. Matt trained super hard for this and showed it but got caught with a great punch. Make sure you congratulate Matt for competing last weekend!
Mike has been impressing a lot of people lately with his fights and was coming off a 45sec KO victory in his last fight before the tournament. Mike fought a tough kid from USA, he had a great boxing game but Mike stuck to the game plan, Clinch knee elbow and eventually finished his opponent with a vicious liver knee in the 1st round and is the NEW 2013 TBA North American Champion. He is now coming off of two 1st round KO victories in the last month. Keep up the good work! Please congratulate Mike for his performance and you will see his new belt in the gym later this week!!
